In a shocking turn of events, a retired Zambia Army Officer, known only as Major Simutile, has found himself on the wrong side of the law. The 67-year-old resident of Lusaka’s Makeni villa has been apprehended by the Zambia Police on suspicion of defiling his 15-year-old maid.
According to Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale, Major Simutile stands accused of committing this heinous act multiple times between the years 2021 and 2023 within the confines of his own home. It is alleged that the Major took advantage of the absence of other family members to carry out these despicable acts.
The victim, a brave young girl, managed to escape the clutches of her abuser. She confided in the authorities that she had noticed Major Simutile approaching her and quickly made her escape from the house. Seeking refuge and justice, she sought help at the nearest police station, where she bravely reported the matter.
In light of the traumatic experience she endured, the victim has been relocated to a safe home where she can begin the process of healing. Currently, she is receiving the necessary medical treatment and support to help her through this difficult time. Meanwhile, Major Simutile remains in custody, awaiting formal charges to be brought against him.
