According to Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale, Sean Tembo, the leader of Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP), has been admitted to the hospital.
Former Home Affairs minister Ronnie Shikapwasha defends the arrests of opposition leaders, stating that they are not being arrested without cause and that the law is being upheld.
Last week, Tembo was arrested and charged with hate speech. Reports have also surfaced stating that he was hospitalized over the weekend due to typhoid.
According to Sunday Mwale, Sean has been admitted to the hospital, but it is unclear whether the reason for his admission is typhoid or not.
