LUSAKA, Thursday, 19th February 2026 — The President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr Hakainde Hichilema, is scheduled to address the National Assembly on Friday, 20th February 2026, in his annual State of the Nation Address focusing on the Progress Made in the Application of National Values and Principles.
According to a press release issued by the National Assembly of Zambia, the Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Mrs Loveness M. Mayaka, announced that the address will be delivered in line with constitutional requirements under Articles 8, 9, and 86 of the Zambian Constitution.
The annual address provides an opportunity for the Head of State to report to Parliament and the nation on the country’s progress in upholding and implementing national values and principles.
Members of the Diplomatic Corps and other distinguished invited guests have been advised to be seated by 08:30 hours ahead of the proceedings.
The National Assembly has further encouraged citizens and stakeholders to follow the address live through various platforms, including Parliament Radio, Parliament TV on TopStar Channel 5, DStv Channel 272, GOtv Channel 28, the National Assembly of Zambia Facebook page, and live streaming on the official Parliament website.
