We were encouraged to learn that the Bank’s digital migration has led to reconfiguration of their retail banking segment. They now use an agency-based system. This shift has brought on board more customers into the economy and created jobs for those running the agencies. This is a good story.
We also heard about the Bank’s focus on initiatives in financial inclusion and financial literacy.
These face-to-face interactions with stakeholders are key as we find the convergence where we can work together effectively to grow the economy.
We will continue engaging with stakeholders as we unlock domestic rigidities which is our focus this year.
