Mr. Kelvin Kamayoyo, Expo Advisor-Western Province has said the Western Province Tourism, Trade and lnvestment Expo slated for 10th to 15th October, 2022 in Mongu will help attract manufacturing companies to relocate some of their operations into Western Province. This will definitely ignite sustainable economic growth and broadbased transformation of the Province that will result into encouraging home-grown entrepreneurship, value addition and employment opportunities.
He argued that the Expo is an undisputable investment game changer for Western Province and that much of the tangible long term investment injection starts after 15th October, 2022 when investors would start making decisions based on the pre-feasibility face value analysis accomplished during the week long Expo event. Mr. Kamayoyo said Western Province will never be the same again post the Expo in terms of trade and investment performance including the business environment would transform for the better. Notably Western Province had to endure the waiting for 4 years just to host a Provincial Expo while witnessing other Provinces easily hosting theirs but finally it is happening this year and special gratitude goes to the New Dawn Administration under the leadership of His Excellency, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia.
Mr. Kamayoyo said its now less than 48hours to the Western Province Tourism, Trade and lnvestment Expo and all roads leads to Mongu Town where the exhibitors will be showcasing their products and the Province unveiling the investment opportunities that can be exploited ranging from fish cages on the Zambezi river, cashewnut, mango juice and edible oils factories, sugarcane plantation, conference and entertainment facilities, sorghum, wheat, avocado and millet outgrower farms, to construction of housing units, airport, corporate office buildings, golf coast and modern hotel. The opportunities in Western Province are abundant and the challenge is now on the private sector especially maufacturing companies to take advantage of this favourable environment and set up manufacturing companies in the Province and build economies of scale.
