ITALIAN PRESIDENT LEAVES ZAMBIA

President of the Republic of Italy Mr Sergio Mattarella has today left Zambia where he was for a three-day official visit. The plane carrying President Mattarella left Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone at 15:07 hours.

He was seen off by Southern Province Minister Honourable Cornelius Mweetwa, Members of the Provincial Joint Operations Committee (PJOC) and other Government Officials.

Before flying out, the President was accorded a Guard of Honour which was mounted by 2 Infantry Battalion of 1 Infantry Brigade of the Zambia Army.

During his three-day official visit, President Mattarella held bilateral talks with the President of the Republic of Zambia and Commander- in-Chief of the Defence Force, Mr Hakainde Hichilema on pertinent matters of mutual interest at bilateral, regional and international levels.

Yesterday, the Italian President addressed the National Assembly of Zambia.
