POLICE ARREST MAN FOR STEALING GRAVE SIGN POSTS

Police in Ndola have arrested a 31 year old man of Kantolomba Township in Ndola for allegedly stealing metal grave sign posts from Kantolomba cemetery.

Copperbelt Police commanding officer Sharon Zulu has disclosed to ZANIS that 31 year old Aaron Phiri has been arrested for allegedly stealing over five metal sign posts at Kantolomba cemetery.

“Facts of the matter are that on Sunday July 7 2022, 26 year old Kelvin Mvula of Kabushi Township in Ndola went to visit and clean his late brother’s grave at the cementry when he noticed three men walking with a sack,” Ms Zulu said.

She added that upon seeing Mr. Mvula the two men then fled leaving Mr Phiri with the sack of grave metal sign post which included the sign post of Mr Mvula’s late brother Julius Maini.

She said other sign posts were for different graves were also found in the sack.

Ms. Zulu said the matter was reported to the police and a docket for the case was opened.
