Lusaka, Thursday, 12th June 2025 – The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has strongly dismissed claims made by Nkandu Luo alleging that the Commission summoned and interrogated Mr. Dalitso Lungu, son of the late 6th President of Zambia, His Excellency Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

In a press statement issued today, the DEC expressed disappointment over what it described as “false, malicious, and misleading” information circulating in the media. The Commission clarified that Mr. Dalitso Lungu was neither summoned nor interviewed by the DEC on Wednesday, 11th June 2025, as claimed by Luo.

“The Commission wishes to dispel these claims as they are contemptuous and only serve to mislead the nation,” the statement read.

Additionally, the DEC refuted allegations that the passports of Dalitso Lungu, Chiyeso Lungu, Tasila Lungu, and former First Lady Esther Lungu were seized as part of any bond conditions. The Commission emphasized that no such action was taken.

The DEC further disclosed that it had engaged with Dalitso Lungu’s lawyer, who categorically distanced himself from Nkandu Luo’s claims.

The Commission urged members of the public to rely on official statements from DEC and avoid spreading unverified information.
