The Committee on Local Government Accounts has commended Chifunabuli Town Council for demonstrating notable improvements in financial accountability and management practices.
This followed the Council’s appearance before the Committee to respond to audit queries raised in the Report of the Auditor General for the financial year ended 31 December 2023. The queries related specifically to the utilisation of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), which plays a pivotal role in enhancing local development.
During the session, the Committee reviewed the Council’s submissions and acknowledged the significant progress made in addressing past concerns. Members praised the Council’s management for showing a commitment to transparency, improved documentation, and adherence to financial regulations.
Following the engagement, the Committee posed for a group photo with officials from Chifunabuli Town Council, marking a successful and constructive interaction. The Committee encouraged the Council to maintain the momentum and continue striving for excellence in the administration of public resources.
