Lusaka, 1st May 2025 – The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) has joined the nation in commemorating Labour Day, underscoring the vital role of accountability and transparency in shaping Zambia’s economic future.
In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the OAG observed this year’s Labour Day – celebrated under the theme “Shaping Zambia’s Future of Work Through Home-Grown Solutions for Inclusive Economic Growth” – by reaffirming its commitment to good governance and responsible management of public resources.
“As Zambia progresses on its path towards sustainable development, the Office of the Auditor General remains steadfast in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity across the public sector,” the statement read. “By ensuring proper oversight of public funds, we help create conditions where inclusive economic growth can thrive, delivering benefits to all Zambians.”
The OAG stressed that rigorous auditing and financial oversight are fundamental to building a just and equitable economy. “Our work extends beyond mere compliance – it’s about safeguarding a future where hardworking citizens can enjoy the fruits of a well-managed economy,” the post stated.
