Mangango Constituency has seen a significant transformation in infrastructure development through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from 2021 to 2025. Several key projects have been implemented to improve education, healthcare, governance, and essential services, with a total budget of K17.7 million allocated for 2025.
Progress in Education
Between 2021 and 2024, Mangango has witnessed the construction of multiple 1×3 classroom blocks in various schools, ensuring improved learning environments. Schools such as Shabo, Nameimawa, Shifupa, Ikasa, and many others have benefitted from these new structures, each costing between K600,000 and K1 million. In 2025, more projects are set to enhance education further, with classroom blocks planned for Limbotwa-Kasebi (K900,000), Kaposhi (K800,000), Mwanambuyu (K850,000), Mutondo (K950,000), and Nyango Secondary School (K1.1 million). Additionally, the procurement of 340 desks has been allocated K510,000 to improve classroom conditions.
Healthcare Advancements
The health sector in Mangango has also greatly benefited from CDF allocations. In 2022 and 2023, projects such as the construction of maternity wings at Nalulembwe and Kasabi Clinics, each valued at K1.2 million, were completed. The operationalisation of multiple health posts, including procurement of furniture and medical equipment, cost over K3 million. In 2025, further developments are planned, including the construction of clinics at Nalibako (K1.5 million) and Kalundu (K1.4 million), health posts at Kalumbelo (K1.2 million) and Mushwala (K1.3 million), and additional procurement of health equipment valued at K800,000.
Road and Water Infrastructure
Efforts to improve infrastructure in Mangango have included road development, water reticulation, and borehole drilling. The Mangango Water Reticulation project was completed at a cost of K2.5 million, ensuring improved water access. In 2025, K3.4 million has been allocated for the drilling of 17 boreholes across Mushwala, Shikombwe, and Mangango wards to enhance water supply for residents.
Governance and Community Development
Governance structures have also been strengthened, with the reinforcement of police cells costing K750,000 and plans for the construction of a local court in Luambuwa at a cost of K1.6 million. Additionally, a new constituency office is set for construction, with K2 million allocated to further improve administrative efficiency.
Economic and Social Investments
To boost economic and social development, the constituency has procured road equipment worth K9 million, including graders and tippers. A fuel bowser worth K1.8 million has also been acquired to support these operations. Sporting infrastructure and equipment, costing K700,000, have been procured to promote youth engagement. The purchase of bicycles for Ward Development Committees (WDCs) at K210,000 and a motorbike for chief retainers valued at K150,000 are also notable contributions to local development.
