Chazanga, Lusaka – 31 January 2025
In a momentous development for education in Mandevu Constituency, pupils of Chazanga Combined School celebrated the official handover of a brand-new 1×4 classroom block, constructed at a total cost of K1,850,000 through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Accompanying this milestone was the commissioning of 2,500 desks, which have been distributed across various government schools in the constituency.
The event, graced by Mandevu Member of Parliament, Hon. Christopher Shakafuswa, was a testament to the government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and providing a conducive learning environment for all children.
Investing in Education: A Brighter Future for Mandevu
Education remains at the heart of development in Mandevu, and through CDF funding, the constituency has successfully delivered three classroom blocks so far, including:
✅ 1×3 classroom block at Justine Kabwe School

Free Education & The Vision for a “Junk-Free” Mandevu
The increased investment in education aligns with the New Dawn Government’s Free Education Policy, which has resulted in higher school enrolments across the constituency. With more children flocking back to school, the need for adequate classroom space and furniture has never been greater.
“Our vision is to see a junk-free Mandevu, where every child has access to quality education in a proper learning environment. We are grateful to the government for the increased Constituency Development Fund, which has made these projects possible,” said Hon. Christopher Shakafuswa during the event.
A Collective Effort Towards a Better Future
The handover ceremony was not just a celebration but a clear demonstration of the power of collaboration between the government, the community, and local leadership. By working together, Mandevu Constituency is on a steadfast path towards transforming education and uplifting the future generations.
As the 2025 CDF projects take shape, residents can expect more infrastructure development, better learning conditions, and a brighter future for their children.
