President Hakainde Hichilema has encouraged Zambians to embrace the divine mission presented in Christmas to ensure peace and unity of purpose across the country, as the country joins the rest of the world in celebrating Christmas.
In a message to Zambians on the eve of Christmas, President Hichilema has reminded Zambians that just as God gave his son, citizens should commit to sharing love and building bridges of understanding, harmony and hard work.
“On this Christmas Eve as we approach the new year, let us reflect on the meaning and importance of Christmas in our lives. Christmas is the most profound expression of the good will ever extended to humanity. It is the ultimate rescue plan, a divine call meant to reconcile God’s children with himself, President Hichilema said.
The message was delivered on both ZNBC TV and Radio.
“May the message of Christmas illuminate every heart and inspire the soul of our nation. Let it echo across the land, bring joy to the weary, healing to the broken and reconciliation to those in need of love, as we prepare to step into 2025. May our nation be graced with victories and progress in every sector,” President Hichilema said.
President Hichilema is hopeful that the season of love will set the tone for the year 2025 as he reminded Zambians to celebrate Christmas with responsibility, while respecting life and property.
He has urged Zambians to also drive with great care on the roads and shun behaviors that infringe on other people’s rights.
President Hichilema says Zambians should not engage in any lawlessness, and show love to those in hospitals, the less priveledged, the old, the orphaned and the widowed.
He has tipped citizens to be filled with the blessings of Christmas as a sacred season, adding that the nation should be filled with hope, warmth and love.
