In a significant step towards honoring and preserving the rich shared legacy of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (Tazara), Zambia’s Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba has officially opened the Tazara Memorial Park Museum in Chongwe District. The inauguration ceremony, which underscores the historical and cultural ties between Zambia and China, saw the Minister’s speech being delivered by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Evans Muhanga.
During the ceremony, Mr. Sikumba emphasized that the decision to make the memorial park accessible to the public highlights Zambia and China’s commitment to acknowledging their shared history. “Opening the Tazara Memorial Park Museum to the public is a testament to our dedication to preserving the invaluable history of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway.
