During the event held at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre, President Hichilema expressed his gratitude to the authors and editors of the book. He acknowledged their effort in creating a work that not only adds to the body of knowledge but also serves as a tool for economic development and planning.

In his keynote address, President Hichilema stressed the importance of a positive mindset among Zambians. He urged citizens to work hard and contribute to driving economic development. “Now that we have restructured the debt, our focus is to grow the economy by increasing productivity in various sectors,” he stated.

The President also highlighted the critical role of prudent resource management in achieving economic growth and improving the livelihoods of the Zambian people. “There is no substitute for prudent resource management if we are to effectively grow the economy and improve the livelihoods of our people,” he emphasized.

The launch of the Oxford Handbook of the Zambian Economy marks a significant step in Zambia’s journey towards economic advancement. The publication, which received the high-profile endorsement of the President, is expected to spark informed discussions and inspire innovative solutions to the nation’s economic challenges.
