The women Reform Organization in collaboration with Namwandwe ward Councilor has donated sanitary pads to more than 50 pupils at Namwandwe primary school in commemoration of the menstrual hygiene day.
WRO project coordinator Nelly Matota said menstrual health is very cardinal in every woman and girls life hence the commitment towards the cause proper menstrual hygiene management.
And Namwandwe ward Councilor Mwaba Kapusa has called for men’s involvement in making menstrual hygiene a normal fact of life by 2030 as this year’s theme states.
Mr Kapusa said the time is now for barriers to be broken and let girls and women lead a normal life even as they menstruate.
Meanwhile Namwandwe primary school headteacher Mrs masesa has thanked the WRO and the civic leader for the helped rendered to the pupils and also engaged the civic leader on the construction of a 1*3 classroom block as well s toilets for proper sanitation.
This year’s menstrual hygiene day theme is making menstruation a normal fact of life by 2030.
