This evening, a significant gathering took place as Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa and Football Association of Zambia president Andrew Kamanga joined hundreds of mourners to bid farewell to veteran football administrator Hanif Adams, who sadly passed away today after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Adams’s death marks a profound loss for the football community, as he was a pivotal figure in the sport’s development in Zambia.
In accordance with the teachings of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, who emphasized the importance of timely burial, Adams was laid to rest this evening at Leopards Hill Cemetery following a heartfelt congregational funeral prayer at the Jaame Mosque in Kamwala.
The atmosphere was filled with a sense of reverence as friends, family, and fellow football enthusiasts accompanied him on his final journey, illuminated by bright floodlights.
Among those present was MUZA FC owner and former Lusaka Dynamos player, Keith Mweemba, who paid his respects.
After the burial, FAZ president Andrew Kamanga expressed the deep sorrow felt within the Zambian football community, highlighting Adams’s invaluable contributions, including his role as the founder of Lusaka Dynamos football club and his dedication to nurturing young talent in the sport.
