The government is working together with the family of the late freedom fighter and former Cabinet Minister Aaron Milner to bring his body back from Zimbabwe to Zambia for his final resting place. Aged 92, Mr. Milner, who served as a Cabinet Minister in the UNIP Administration, passed away on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024 in Zimbabwe.
According to a statement issued by Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa in Lusaka yesterday, the funeral of Mr. Milner is taking place in Lusaka’s Roma area at House Number two, Lily Monze Road, off Mulungushi Road.
Mr. Kangwa also mentioned that the funeral program for Mr. Milner will be announced once the burial arrangements have been finalized.
During his time in the UNIP Administration, Mr. Milner held various ministerial positions, including Home Affairs, Local Government and Power, Transport and Communication. Additionally, he served as the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and Secretary General to the UNIP government, among other important roles.
