In the wake of the recent unrest that occurred in Bauleni Compound on June 4, 2024, in Lusaka, the Zambia Police Service took swift action to restore order and bring those responsible for the chaos to justice.
Beginning at midnight on June 4, 2024, a massive crackdown operation was launched with the aim of apprehending the culprits and maintaining peace in the community.
The operation has yielded successful results, as several individuals have been successfully apprehended.
Namushi Muketoi, aged 31, was detained in relation to the offense of aggravated robbery. Beatrice Mulemeli, aged 49, was also detained for the same offense. Mooya Nchimunya, aged 39, was apprehended in Kanono area, Old Kanyama Compound, Lusaka, and is being held in relation to aggravated robbery as well. Kelvin Chiwala, aged 32, was detained for the offense of unlawful wounding.
Additionally, James Banda, whose house remains unmarked, was also apprehended for aggravated robbery. These arrests signify a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security within our communities.
