We are truly honored to have the opportunity to address a distinguished group of land component commanders from various regions across Africa, Europe, America, and South America, as mentioned by President Hichilema.
The conference theme, “regional solutions to transnational problems,” is particularly relevant given the global challenges we are currently facing.
This conference comes at a crucial time for Zambia, as we currently hold the Chair of the Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security within our regional economic community (SADC). We are actively collaborating with other member states to promote stability in our region.
Events like this provide a platform for sharing best practices, technologies, and intelligence among different regional blocs. This collaboration is essential for working together towards global peace.
The security challenges unique to each participating region make this summit a vital initiative. It allows us to learn from one another and create a peaceful environment that fosters trade and commerce for all citizens, both locally and globally.
As leaders in Africa, we are committed to improving the lives of our citizens through economic growth. This underscores the importance of those responsible for peace and security in ensuring a stable continent that can support economic development.
Security issues are not confined to one location; their impact extends beyond physical borders. Therefore, as we often emphasize, instability in one place affects stability everywhere.
President Hichilema expressed gratitude for the continued prayers as we return to Lusaka.
