The Zambian Institute Of Chartered Accountants (ZiCA) is saddened to note that over three thousand schools across the country do not have qualified accountants.
Speaking in a statement issued today when reacting to the recent Auditors General Reports, the president of ZiCA Yande S Mwenye notes that most of school accountants are orderly teachers who are given the responsibility of accountancy in various schools .
Therefore she has expressed gratitude to the recent statement that was issued by the Basic Education Teachers Union of Zambia (BETUZ )for raising the concern on misappropriation of funds due to unqualified accountants hence the need to recruit qualified accountants in school in order to avoid mismanagement of finances in school.
