Mr. Thabo Kawana, the Permanent Secretary for Information and Media, has dismissed rumors circulating on social media about the passing of former Vice President Dr. Guy Scott.

Today, Mr. Kawana paid a visit to Dr. Scott at his home in New Kasama, Lusaka, where they had a pleasant interaction.

He emphasized the importance of not spreading false or misleading information, especially when it concerns someone’s health or death, calling it irresponsible and unacceptable.

Mr. Kawana urged those who engage in spreading false information to stop, as it not only causes unnecessary distress but also creates panic among the affected person’s family and friends.

He expressed his well wishes for Dr. Scott’s good health and longevity.

Additionally, the Permanent Secretary reminded the public to maintain integrity and responsibility when sharing information on social media platforms.
