The State Counsels who took their oaths include Hon. Mrs. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, Hon. Jacob Jack Mwiimbu, MP, Mrs. Frances Mwangala Ifunga Zaloumis, Mr. Arshad Abdulla Dudhia, and Mrs. Kondwa Emily Sakala Chibiya.
The prestigious title and honor of State Counsel represent a deep dedication to public service, going beyond legal practice to embody the core principles of fairness, equality, and empathy.
President Hakainde Hichilema encouraged the newly appointed State Counsels to uphold the Constitution and safeguard democratic values.
Additionally, Ambassador Lazarous Kapambwe was sworn in as the Special Envoy to the President, with President Hakainde Hichilema commending his long-standing and exceptional service as a career diplomat, making him well-suited for the role.
The President also administered the oath to Dr. Choolwe Beyani as the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission, urging him to promptly address issues related to the appointments, promotions, and transfers of civil servants to enhance performance and service delivery.
Addressing Ms. Beatrice Kiluya Mpanga, the newly appointed Deputy Director-General of the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), the government expressed confidence in her ability to improve service delivery in combating money laundering and other financial crimes.
To Father Joe Komakoma, the Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission, it was emphasized that the commission should continue its efforts in promoting and protecting the rights and freedoms of the citizens.
