Leyla Hasanova has been designated by the Azerbaijani government as the Youth Climate Champion for COP29 Azerbaijan. In her current role, she serves as the Head of the Secretariat at the NAM Youth Organization. This appointment highlights her expertise and dedication to addressing climate change issues, particularly within the youth community.
As the Youth Climate Champion, Leyla will play a crucial role in advocating for sustainable practices and engaging young people in climate action initiatives during the upcoming COP29 conference in Azerbaijan. On the 8th of February, 2024, the government of Azerbaijan, represented by the deputy minister of foreign affairs, extended an invitation to us to propose innovative ideas and projects that should be finalized and submitted by the end of February, 2024. This initiative aims to foster a close collaboration with Leyla Hasanova, who will be leading the coordination efforts for global youth initiatives.
