In a recent development, the transportation industry witnessed a significant shift in prices due to a comprehensive evaluation of transport rates. As a result, the cost of petrol at Walvis Bay has now been adjusted to N$20.74 per litre, while Diesel 50ppm is priced at N$21.01 per litre. Additionally, Diesel 10ppm has seen a change in its cost, now standing at N$21.21 per litre.
Furthermore, the ministry has taken proactive measures to support oil wholesalers by extending the temporary relief margin of 20 cents per litre for an additional three months. This decision aims to alleviate the financial burden on wholesalers and ensure a smoother transition during this period of change.
It is worth noting that the ministry has observed an under recovery in both diesel and petrol prices. Specifically, there has been an under recovery of 44 cents per litre on petrol, while diesel 50ppm has experienced under recoveries of 33 cents per litre. Similarly, diesel 20ppm has recorded under recoveries of 28 cents per litre. These under recoveries highlight the need for careful analysis and adjustments to maintain a balanced and sustainable pricing structure in the transportation sector.
