Honorable Warren Mwambazi, the Member of Parliament for Bwana Mkubwa, expressed his deep disappointment regarding the act of vandalism that occurred at Mwenye Police Post in Chichele Ward within his constituency.
Honorable Mwambazi expressed his dismay over the situation, considering that the Police Post had recently been constructed using the 2022 CDF funds and was officially inaugurated in May of this year.
Consequently, he has directed the local police command in his electoral district to guarantee the apprehension and legal action against the offenders.
Honourable Mwambazi expressed his discontent and issued instructions to the police command of the district and the mentioned station to ensure the apprehension of the culprits. He emphasized that their actions constituted malicious damage to government property and therefore, they should face prosecution. Honourable Mwambazi firmly believed that the law should be upheld and justice should prevail.
In the confirmation of the incident, Chichele Ward Councillor Edgar Misenso stated that the occurrence took place during the night when the police were in the process of transporting a suspect.
Councillor Misenso clarified that the individuals suspected to be friends of the suspect were reportedly observed following the police and engaging in the act of hurling stones at the police post, resulting in the destruction of windows, a tap, and various other items.
He mentioned that the local authorities were presently present at the scene to apprehend the individuals suspected of being involved in the act of vandalism, as they were believed to be residents of the community.
