In November 2023, the Ministry of Finance and National Planning disbursed a total of K11.6 billion to support various developmental initiatives, enhance public service delivery, meet debt obligations, and cover wages.
The Ministry’s statement reveals that out of the total amount, K2.6 billion was allocated for transfers, subsidies, and social benefits. Additionally, K874.3 million was released for the implementation of developmental programs and general operations, while K998.9 million was designated for capital expenditure.
Additionally, a total of K3.9 billion was allocated for the public service wage bill, with K3.3 billion being utilized to settle both domestic and external debt obligations.
Out of the total amount of K2.6 billion allocated for transfers and subsidies, K941.4 million was specifically designated for the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Within this allocation, K795.5 million was utilized for community development projects, while K145.8 million was dedicated to various programs aimed at empowering the youth and women, among other initiatives.
Furthermore, the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) received a total of K450 million in funding. Additionally, K874.3 million was allocated to support the implementation of various government programs and general operations across different government institutions. These funds were released in November 2023.
