On May 20, 2023, the Police Anti-Robbery Flying Squad received a report of an aggravated robbery in which two male suspects, armed with a knife and a pistol, stole a Toyota Vitz from a 48-year-old man in Barastone Park. The police responded quickly and engaged in a shootout with the suspects, resulting in their deaths. The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
Two robbery suspects were killed in a police shootout after they were identified as the perpetrators of a gunpoint robbery earlier that day. The robbery took place at a shop in the Ten Miles area, where the suspects stole K6,900 and a cellphone from a man. The suspects matched the description given by the victim, leading to their confrontation with the police.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspects involved in the robbery were spotted boarding a Flash minibus that was traveling towards the SOS area along the Great North Road. However, the situation quickly escalated as police engaged in a shootout with the suspects, resulting in their deaths.
On May 20, 2021, at approximately 2:30 pm, the Anti-Robbery Flying Squad officers were tipped off by an informant that two men in the Garden Park area were in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle. As a result, a police shootout occurred, resulting in the death of the robbery suspects.
Police officers responded to a tip about a vehicle involved in a robbery and quickly located it parked in an open yard. As they approached, two individuals associated with the car aggressively confronted the officers, resulting in a shootout. Both suspects were struck by gunfire and did not survive their injuries. The incident is currently under investigation.
Following a police shootout, the robbery suspects were immediately transported to the University Teaching Hospitals for medical attention. Unfortunately, upon arrival, they were declared deceased.
