Zambia is close to finalizing its debt restructuring talks, according to government officials. A Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed in the coming days, marking a significant step forward in the country’s efforts to address its debt burden. The negotiations have been ongoing for some time, and the government is hopeful that a resolution will be reached soon.

According to Thabo Kawana, the Director and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Media, Zambia is nearing the end of its debt restructuring talks. During an appearance on Phoenix FM’s “Let the People Talk Programme” on Friday, Kawana expressed optimism that the government’s efforts will soon result in a successful restructuring of Zambia’s debt.

Zambia is currently in the process of concluding talks to restructure its debt, according to Mr. Kawana. The aim of this restructuring is to alleviate the burden of debt on the country’s economy, which is currently hindering growth. Once the restructuring is complete, it is hoped that Zambia will be able to achieve a stronger and more sustainable economy.

Zambia is nearing the end of its debt restructuring talks, with China playing a key role as co-chair of the country’s official creditors. Despite rumors of strained relations between the two nations, Chinese officials have been actively involved in the process and are working towards a positive outcome.

The country has been in talks with its creditors for months in an effort to restructure its debt and avoid default. Meanwhile, Health Minister Sylvia Masebo has accused medical professionals in public health facilities of stealing medicines, and many are currently facing prosecution for their actions.
