Kigan Chiyishila, a 26-year-old resident of Kapiri Mposhi, was recently arrested by a team of officers from the Department of Immigration and other security wings. Along with Chiyishila, 11 suspected Ethiopian illegal immigrants were also apprehended in the joint operation.

On April 23, 2023, a tip-off from concerned citizens led to the discovery of a group of individuals in a house. The group consisted of a 26-year-old Zambian and 11 individuals suspected to be Ethiopians. A joint team led by the Department of Immigration was responsible for the arrest of the group.

Following an earlier incident, a joint team of immigration officials arrested a 26-year-old Zambian and 11 individuals suspected to be Ethiopians. According to Department Spokesperson Namati Nshinka, the team conducted investigations that led them to the same house where they took action.

Zambian immigration officials have arrested a 26-year-old man named Kigan Chiyishila and 11 individuals suspected to be illegal immigrants from Ethiopia. According to Mr. Nshinka, the arrest was made after a search of a house where the individuals were found.

The Zambian is currently being held at Kabwe central police, while the 11 suspected Ethiopians are being detained at Mukobeko medium correctional facility. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.

The Mumbwa Immigration Office has also charged a 36-year-old French national with unlawful stay, altering a passport, and doing business without an immigration permit. These arrests highlight the ongoing efforts to combat illegal immigration and ensure that individuals are following proper immigration procedures.
