The upcoming 22nd COMESA Heads of State and Government Summit presents both opportunities and challenges for the tourism sector, according to Evans Muhanga, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism. To capitalize on the influx of visitors, the Ministry has developed a range of tourism packages to entice tourists to explore the region and experience its unique attractions. However, with increased tourism comes the need for careful management to ensure that the sector benefits local communities and the environment.

The upcoming COMESA Summit presents a valuable opportunity for the Ministry of Tourism to showcase their products and services to the delegates attending the event. Mr. Muhanga expressed his enthusiasm for taking advantage of this platform to promote the tourism sector and attract more visitors to the region. However, he also acknowledged the challenges that come with such opportunities and emphasized the need for effective planning and execution to ensure a successful outcome.

Mr.  Muhanga , emphasized the need for the hospitality industry to be well-prepared for the upcoming 22nd COMESA Heads of State and Government Summit. The summit presents both opportunities and challenges for the tourism sector, and it is important for businesses to be ready to meet the demands of the event.

One key point emphasized by Mr. Muhanga was the importance of the hospitality industry delivering high-quality experiences for delegates, in order to encourage repeat visits and continued growth in the sector.
