The Emerald Production Watch of Zambia is urging President Hakainde Hichilema to extend his prerogative to hire and fire some serving ministers, saying the current cabinet needs a reshuffle.

Organization President Musa Kafimbwa says with the President demonstrating time and again that he means well for Zambia through his fight against corruption, he needs hard working and aligned people around him.

Mr. Kafwimbwa who is elated by the head of state’s action to fire some top government officials who are accused of corruption such as District Commissioners and a Deputy Permanent Secretary, is of the view that only a reshuffle will unlock the next stage for government.

He tells Phoenix News that some ministers are dragging the rest of government backwards as they are failing to deliver and work for the people of Zambia.

Mr. Kafimbwa says some appointments to cabinet need to be benched while others need to be moved to other Ministries where they can perform efficiently.
