Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says there is need for government to set up processing hubs in all the ten provinces so that it enhances agriculture productivity.
Mrs NALUMANGO says there is need for necessary policy and structural changes to the sector to enhance agriculture and value addition.
The Vice President says Government is determined to make the sector be a competitive agro business that creates wealth and improves lives.
Mrs NALUMANGO said this when she officiated at a National Stakeholder Consultation on Zambia’s Second Generation National Agricultural Investment Plan in Lusaka.
And, Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO said the sector needs a guiding plan that will take the ministry through the next five years so that the country can see enhanced productivity in the sector.
Mr MTOLO said the guiding plan has expired and there is need for one to be done to enable investment in the sector.
