I actually dropped tears yesterday when I watched my daughter “Auntie Milly” cry on live feed. Emotionally so and hurt deep from inside. I then got to locate the video where her husband (my son “ba Mulwanda”)was exhibiting a cut on his arm.
Later when I listened to the contents of her long address, I realized the serious extent of their argument or fight this time around. She had just revealed to the public the long hidden secret that I have been trying to help them through in handling her husband’s substance abuse problem. I have been counseling both and individually to help them through their marriage and lives in general.
The times you would have seen me with Sonny, be it interviewing him or just hanging out, it would be attempts to get him away from mischief. Each time I get a call from him selling seedlings , however many they are just for K200, then I would know he needs the little but billion cash in his mind just for the next batch of whatever he is hooked on to.
I sat them down once in a small room just the 3 of us. It was like a boiler pot calling each other names, , screams, suicide threats, crying from both sides and in the end me too.
“ You guys caught my attention as a pair and thought you were doing very well together in the public eye and business wise. If you think either one of you will make it solo, then you lying to yourselves” and so I concluded to them and ended the meeting. I told them that despite loving them both, I would keep a distance as neither seemed to heed to my guidance on their lives and marriage.
Months later ,last year and this year I would hear about them together in church and preaching. I would smile with happiness when I would watch them together doing their thing and looking happy.
To wake up to their videos yesterday actually broke my heart. My take is that neither can handle life without the other. We have been at this point before. They both love each dearly and maybe a case of excess love in a relationship is as dangerous as no love at all.
They both respect and genuinely look out for me. I will continue and ask all that care about them and their children to keep them in prayers. They are exceptional and lovely people individually but more so as a couple.
God bless you Walter and Milly.
I love you both.
