This occurred on January 29, 2023, around 09:00 hours at House number E5, Handsworth Court, University of Zambia
Police were alerted that a student only identified as Mashuko Kanjipite a student at the University of Zambia was found hanging on the bathroom window.
He was immediately rushed to Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The deceased’s body was deposited in the same Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and further identification.
An Inquiry File has since been opened.
In a related incident, Police in Lusaka recorded a case of Murder involving a female aged 36 identified as Yvonne Kabwe.
This occurred on January 29, 2023 at around 08:00hrs hours in Chelston.
A report was received from the employer in Kuku Farms Obama, Lusaka, to the effect that her maid Yvonne Kabwe, aged 36, died at the above mentioned health facility after allegedly beaten and injured Derrick and Kebby other names unknown.The two were reported to be former boyfriends to the deceased.
She sustained swollen right cheek, face and general body pains. Unknown objects were used in the act.
Preliminary investigations indicate that on the fateful date, now deceased reported to her employer that she was not feeling too well without divulging into any further details.
Later information came to the employer’s knowledge that actually her maid was allegedly beaten.
The body is lying in the University Teaching Hospitals mortuary awaiting postmortem.
A manhunt has been launched for the two suspects who are believed to be on the run.
