The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority ZICTA has warned that people with SIM cards missing a live facial image risk being de-registered.
ZICTA Manager Corporate Affairs, HANFORD CHAABA says this is regardless of whether one has previously used a National Registration Card NRC to register.
Mr. CHAABA has explained that the need to provide live facial images is meant to enhance security against mobile money crimes.
He says the authority, through mobile service providers, has started sending notification messages to individuals, whose SIM card registration is missing the said feature.
