Government has approved a security operation in Lusaka to protect the public from criminal gangs.
Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIIMBU says Law enforcement agencies will be operating 24/7 to ensure that the public is protected.
The Minister told Journalists at a media briefing that the public in Lusaka will be inconvenienced but has urged people to cooperate with Security Officers when the operation to remove criminal gangs starts.
Mr. MWIIMBU said he is aware that some political party cadres have gone into bus stations and markets harassing citizens and collecting money.
He said any cadre who will be found wanting will be dealt with accordingly regardless of their political affiliation.
Mr. MWIIMBU has further appealed to members of the public to help the officers with the necessary information and avoid harboring the criminals.
