Today, your Government has signed the Concession Agreement for the Design, Financing, Building, Operation, Maintenance and Transfer of 35 kilometres of the Chingola-Kasumbalesa Road using the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) financing model.

Director and Chief Executive Officer for Turbo-Ka-Chin Investment Consortium, E. Shangfa was the signatory for the Concessionaire.
The commencement of works on this significant road, comes on the realisation that
the transportation sector is critical to economic growth as it facilitates commerce and trade in goods and services, as well as movement of people.
The development of a project like this will, therefore, serve as a springboard for various youths on the Copperbelt, as it will result in the creation of many jobs in the project area during the construction period as well as the operation and maintenance phase.
The goal of the Kasumbalesa-Chingola road project is to make it easier for traffic to move between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Among the prominent features of the project is the widening of the road from Chingola to Kasumbalesa, with the last 3 kilometres being finished off with a concrete paved dual carriageway; one toll plaza; two truck parking bays; and a Type 2 weighbridge.
You will be informed, fellow citizens, as we progress on the other identified PPP projects in the road sector.
