Our toddler Katongo threw up late last night and refused feeding bottle thereon. At 5am, she woke up with a blocked nose and coughing.
My wife immediately rushed her to Coptic hospital while I took our older child Michelle to school first before the hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital I found wife and child in the car park and about to leave. She said the Doctor named Peter Gayahd (Egyptian) just gave them medicine and without even checking vitals like temperature.
I carried the child back into the hospital to find out why Dr Gayahd prescribed child medicine without first checking her vitals as she was looking feverish and in pain.
We were told he had left as was on night duty. So he was in a hurry to go home and had no time to investigate my daughter illness. His focus was only in ensuring he writes down several medicine so we pay for them through the nose at their pharmacy window. I asked they call him back but he never picked calls on their several attempts.
Some nurses then got involved and helped take her vitals before another Doctor was called to attend to our daughter.
I thought such incidents would never happen from a professional and more so expatriate medical Doctor.
Hereby ‘Naming and Shaming’ Dr Peter Gayahd at Coptic’s so that ‘achinje’ (improve) on how he approaches his duties otherwise his callous approach may be a danger to lives of patients.
