Kenya’s outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta is meeting his successor at State House in Nairobi for the first time since the 9 August election.
William Ruto beat Mr Kenyatta’s favoured successor, veteran politician Raila Odinga, in a close election.
A court challenge to his victory was dismissed by the Supreme Court last week.
Mr Kenyatta had fallen out with his deputy and campaigned against him. He has not yet publicly congratulated Mr Ruto.
The 55 year old will be sworn in as Kenya’s fifth president on Tuesday.
