President Hakainde Hichilema says Zambians should be key participants in the country’s mining sector.
The Head of State says his government is reviewing the mineral development policy to ensure that the country attains its target of mining 3 million of copper per annum in the next ten years.
Speaking when he officially opened the 2ND Session of the the13th National Assembly today, the President said the government is committed to resolving the impasse surrounding KCM on the Copperbelt.
He said the government wants to establish mining hubs for artisanal miners so that they can access organized markets and earn more revenue.
And President Hichilema says the country’s tourism sector has this year recorded significant growth compared to the same period last year.
He said the number of tourist arrivals has doubled compared to 240,000 visits recorded in the first quarter of last year to 496,000 this year.
