Director spokesperson at the Ministry of Information and Media Thabo Kawana has dispelled assertions that the government has failed to provide security to former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
The former head of state’s residence yesterday experienced a break-in where two television sets were stolen.
And Mr. Kawana says it is not the first time that a former head of state’s residence experiences a break-in.
He adds that former Late President Rupiah Banda’s residents experienced two break-ins and one at his office.
Mr. Kawana has refuted the PF’s assertion that the break-in at Mr. Lungu’s residence are first of its kind in the country.
He has branded people surrounding Mr. Lungu as immature and alarmist compared to those that surrounded Mr. Banda.
And Mr. Kawana has cautioned the PF against exposing Mr.lungu’s residence stating that they are not only exposing it to danger but to diseases too.
He has further advised the PF to use the former president’s office instead of his private residence.
