As an association, one of the fundamental objectives is to bridge the cultural gap between Russia and Zambia. And as such, whenever there is any activity that presents as an opportunity to fulfill the objective, the association takes keen interest and does what it can to ensure that there is synchronization.
Education opportunities between the two countries are among the major mediums of ensuring these socio-cultural exchanges. And speaking on the same topic, there happens to be a ready crop of students bound to go and study in Russia under the Russian government Scholarship Schemes and others on personal sponsorships. As an association, ZAMRUS is made up of members who have vast experience and knowledge of the Russian way of life especially as students. So yesterday the association took time to meet the prospective students. They were addressed by the association chair, madam Patricia Kalinga, who told them all about the association, about its vision and mission and all else pertaining. The students expressed overwhelming keenness towards. Through inquired on matters of affiliation: membership prerequisites and fees about which they were adequately informed.
Ms Kalinga didn’t forget to orient them about the expectations in her address. She told them what was important to note regarding their new environment: from food options to weather patterns and everything in between. They were curious and asked some intriguing questions which she answered satisfyingly.
We wish the students all the best in their new academic endeavor and only hope their stay will be merry and that with the orientation they got they can be comfortable by vicariously emulating what their predecessors did.
