In memory of Honorable Mukutulu Sinyani, this article serves as a tribute to his life and legacy. The Sinyani family wishes to pay their respects to their beloved patriarch, who held many roles in the lives of those who knew him – as a father, uncle, brother, nephew, grandfather, and friend.
A tribute to the honorable Mukutulu Sinyani, born on December 27th, 1953 in Munyeme Village of Chief Matape in Sesheke District. As a young boy, he spent much of his time in Sesheke, Lusitu, and Siavonga Districts, where he received his primary education under the guidance of his elder brother, Lawrence Mapulanga Sinyani, who was a police officer. Growing up in a disciplined household provided him with the opportunity to learn the importance of structure and order at a young age.

After completing his secondary education at Namwianga Mission Secondary School, he pursued further education at Kwame Nkhruma Teacher’s College in Kabwe. It was there that he earned his Secondary Teacher’s Diploma in Mathematics and General Science.

He later moved on to Kabulonga Boys Secondary School in Lusaka, where he continued to inspire and educate countless students. Today, we honor his memory and the impact he had on the lives of so many.
Honorable Mukutulu Sinyani’s legacy is one of dedication to education and service. During his teaching career, he was actively involved in Jets Clubs and served as Chairman of the Zambia National Union of Teachers three-man Committee from 1985 to 1987.

After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Biology at the University of Zambia, he began working as a Drug Enforcement Education Officer with the Drug Enforcement Commission. He continued to pursue further education and training, including a certification in Identification and Analysis of Drugs of Abuse from the United Nations Drugs Control Programme Scientific Support/Laboratory in Vienna, Austria. This led to his fellowship as a United Nations Drugs Control expert. He also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Criminal Justice and Police Management from Licester University in the United Kingdom and attended numerous other training programs and seminars, earning various certifications. Honoring his legacy means recognizing his commitment to education and his contributions to the field of drug enforcement.
A tribute is being paid to the late Honorable Mukutulu Sinyani, who served in various capacities within the Drug Enforcement Commission. One of his most prominent roles was that of spokesperson, which he carried out with great pleasure. He worked his way up the ranks to become Commissioner, a position he was appointed to by President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa in 2002.

He managed a fuel filling station, tended to cattle, and grew crops on his farm. Additionally, he provided management consultancy services at the Zambezi Sawmills and was an active participant in the Baroste Royal Establishment, serving as a member of the Kuta at the palace of Senior Chief Inyambo Yeta in Mwandi District. Honorable Sinyani also played a key role in resolving boundary contentions between Chief Momba and Senior Chief Inyambo, representing the BRE in the process. His legacy continues to be honored by those who knew him and worked alongside him.
The passing of Honorable Mukutulu Sinyani was deeply felt by his community, who mourned the loss of a great leader. His death left a void that many believed could never be filled. Those who knew him prayed for his soul to rest in peace, knowing that he had dedicated his life to serving humanity and making a positive impact on the world. In honor of his legacy, his community came together to pay tribute to his life and the impact he had on those around him.
