Choma Municipal Council received a delegation from Mazabuka Municipal Council who toured the New Bus Station in Choma this morning.

The Entourage led by Choma Town Clerk, Mr Embassy Cheembo toured the New Bus Station, Maamba Bus Station and Kings Centre Bus Station.

The team visited Choma to learn how the Local Authority is managing the New Bus Station and other stations in the district in order to manage their bus station better.

The delegation from Mazabuka comprised of the Deputy Mayor, The Chairperson for the Housing and Social Services Committee, three other Councillors, Director of Housing and Social Services and other staff.

Choma Municipal Council was represented by officers from Housing, Planning and Finance departments.

The Town Clerk said he was humbled that Mazabuka Municipal Council had picked Choma to visit and learn how bus station operations are done on a day to day basis.

He said that he hopes that despite the challenges that are faced in the stations, the team would pick the good practices that will help them ran their stations better.

The Chairperson of the Housing and Services Committee for Mazabuku Municipal Council thanked the Local Authority for allowing the tour to take place and for giving them detailed information of bus station operations in the district.

The Director of Housing and Social Services from the visiting Council also expressed gratitude to the Local Authority and said all the information they had gotten would help them improve their bus station operations.
