The international peace NGO Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) will host the “International Christian Peace Academy (ICPA) & Fellowship Gathering” on March 14 in Lusaka, Zambia.
The event will be jointly organized in cooperation with the National Guidance and Religious Affairs (NGRA) under the Office of the Vice President and the Zambia Interfaith Networking Group (ZINGO).
The gathering is designed to bring together Christian leaders and pastors to reflect on the values of peace and harmony in society based on the teachings of the Bible and to discuss the role of religious leaders in promoting social cohesion.
Religious leaders have long played an important role in preventing social conflict and fostering unity within communities.
In this regard, the event will serve as a platform for government officials and religious leaders to continue dialogue on peace.
During the event, participants will watch a lecture screening from the International Christian Peace Academy (ICPA) followed by discussions and fellowship based on biblical teachings.
The ICPA is a program designed to foster greater understanding and cooperation within the Christian community by providing a platform for Christian pastors around the world to share, learn, and exchange teachings based on the Bible.
Through this program, participants will reflect on the values of peace, reconciliation, and community unity, and discuss how faith can contribute to peace and stability in society.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), proclaimed by HWPL on March 14, 2016.
The DPCW is a peace declaration consisting of 10 articles and 38 clauses, drafted with the participation of international law experts to prevent war and establish sustainable peace.
The DPCW emphasizes building peace through global cooperation based on universal values such as human rights, justice, and freedom. In particular, Articles 8 (Freedom of Religion), 9 (Religion, Ethnic Identity and Peace), and 10 (Spreading a Culture of Peace) emphasize that a culture of peace should be promoted through the participation of not only states but also civil society and individuals.
Based on the principles of the DPCW, HWPL has expanded religious cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Zambia Interfaith Networking Group (ZINGO).
HWPL is also working with government institutions, including the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security (MOHAIS) and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), to expand peace education and interfaith dialogue activities.
The upcoming gathering is expected to serve as an opportunity for government officials and religious leaders to continue discussions on peace and community harmony as part of these ongoing cooperative efforts.
Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) is an international peace NGO dedicated to promoting global peace and the cessation of war.
Based on the principles of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), HWPL carries out various initiatives such as peace education, interfaith dialogue, and international cooperation, working together with governments, civil society, and religious leaders to promote a culture of peace and contribute to sustainable peace around the world.
