Government and public service unions have agreed on a uniform increase of K700 in monthly basic salaries for all public service employees.
The agreement follows the successful conclusion of negotiations on improved salaries and conditions of service, with the revised salary structure set to take effect on 1st January 2026.
In addition, the daily meal allowance has been adjusted from K150 to K175, while all other conditions of service will continue to be paid at the existing rates.
Government and the unions have further agreed to continue engaging on outstanding administrative matters relating to conditions of service following the conclusion of the negotiations.
The agreement was jointly announced by Permanent Secretary for the Public Service Management Division (PSMD), Ms Lois Mulube, representing the Government Bargaining Team, and Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia President, Ms Joy Beene, representing the Unions Bargaining Team.
