LUSAKA, ZAMBIA — The Lusaka City Council has issued a public notice regarding the temporary closure of two major roads to facilitate rehabilitation and expansion works. From 2nd July 2025 to 13th August 2025, Main Street and Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Road will be partially closed to traffic.
The council emphasised that the upgrades are necessary to improve infrastructure and ensure smoother travel in the long term. Motorists and the general public are advised to use alternative routes during this period and to adhere to all traffic signs and warning signals that will be in place.
In the notice, Eng. Liftery Ndaba, the Town Clerk, expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and assured the public that the project is aimed at enhancing road safety and efficiency.
The council has urged cooperation from all road users to ensure the timely completion of the works.
