Siavonga Member of Parliament Darius Mulunda joined UPND officials yesterday in meeting residents of Lusumpuko in Micho and Upper Kanyelele, Kariba Ward to discuss the government’s development agenda under President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership. The engagement focused on reinforcing public support for the UPND’s transformative policies ahead of future elections.
Mulunda highlighted widespread appreciation for government initiatives including free education, the Cash for Work programme, and increased CDF allocations, which have brought tangible benefits to Zambians. “Our people recognize the stability and progress under President Hichilema’s leadership,” Mulunda stated, expressing confidence in continued public support for the UPND’s development vision.
The meeting also addressed community concerns regarding implementation challenges with empowerment programmes. Residents raised issues about delays in the Cash for Work initiative and land disputes, with Mulunda pledging immediate action. “Exclusion from government programmes contradicts the President’s directive,” he emphasized, warning that verified cases of mismanagement would face consequences.
Calling for party unity, Mulunda urged UPND members to prioritize collective goals over individual differences. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring all constituents benefit equally from government programmes through continued community engagements. “Together, we will resolve these challenges and build a more prosperous Siavonga,” Mulunda concluded.
