📍 Chongwe, Zambia – The British High Commissioner to Zambia, Rabecca Terzeon, has praised the Zambian government for fostering inclusive governance by enabling citizens to actively participate in national development through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking during her interaction with CDF beneficiaries in Chongwe District, Ms. Terzeon expressed her admiration for how the initiative is empowering ordinary Zambians and uplifting communities.
“When citizens are directly involved in decision-making, they take ownership of development projects, and this creates lasting impact. The Constituency Development Fund has not only improved infrastructure but has also given people opportunities for personal growth and better livelihoods,” she said.
A Game-Changer for Local Development
Ms. Terzeon highlighted how access to CDF resources has transformed lives, allowing communities to drive their own progress—whether through education, entrepreneurship, or infrastructure development.
“It’s inspiring to see how people are using these funds to create opportunities for themselves and their families. This is what democracy should look like—government policies working for the people at the grassroots level,” she added.
A Testament to Government’s Commitment
The British envoy commended the government for its commitment to transparency and community-driven progress, noting that the success of CDF implementation reflects a strong dedication to improving living standards across the country.
🌍 “Stronger communities mean a stronger nation,” she concluded.
